The story is filled with cliches that we commonly see on other similarly themed dramas, yet they are cliches that are effective in delivering moving scenes that are very relatable especially for every struggling millennial who has the same issues: (1) unrequited love with best friends, (2) the inevitable moment when you have to make a choice and grow and and create a living for yourself and for people who are relying on your minimal income, (3) a job you chose to do for survival, (4) letting go of your biggest dreams knowing they’re just too impossible with your lackluster specs and because they won’t feed you or your family, (5) learning how to swallow your pride even if you’re the proudest person on earth or (6) simply being an adult without knowing what you wanna do in life. Meanwhile, Seol Hee and Joo Man who have been going strong for six years will eventually get to reevaluate their love for each other as a bump on the road will test them. Bickering and constant struggles with their respective careers and relationships with other people will try to hold them back, but the two immature friends still find themselves in each other’s arms. Difficulties and past fears will hold them back, but eventually with self-motivation and supportive peers, the four of them work their way up the ladder no matter how hard the path they chose may be.Īlong the way, Ae Ra and Dong Man’s love-hate relationship as friends will blossom into one of romance. They all crave for the successful story of their lives despite their lack of specs and experience. Joo Man who has a stable job as an assistant manager will be put to the test as a newbie enters and tries to woo him. Baek Seol Hee (Song Ha Yoon) who wants nothing more than to be a mother and whose life revolves around Joo Man is working as a customer service agent for a home shopping network and is struggling to keep her relationship afloat. Choi Ae Ra (Kim Ji Won) who used to dream of being in front of a mic is now the front desk lady at a mall. Ko Dong Man (Park Seo Joon) who was a national taekwondo athlete is now a pest exterminator. The Storyįour childhood friends with big dreams yet with third-rate specs struggle to keep up with their lives that are on the verge of collapse. That said, ‘Fight My Way’ did not fail on delivering a relatable drama about friendship, family, love and chasing one’s dreams. Park Seo Joon’s just the total package when it comes to acting and Kim Ji Won has exceeded my expectations of her. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana-the immense power from within his soul-in time to save not only his family but to stop Outworld once and for all? - Warner Bros.After digging through my stash of downloaded dramas, I found ‘ Fight My Way‘ in my list of dramas to watch and I guess while I ignored it in the past thinking I’d let the mainstream dramas be last–since the more mainstream the more I refuse to watch it–I think that the wait is truly worth it though I didn’t have my expectations up for this one in the beginning. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Kung Lao (Max Huang) and rogue mercenary Kano (Josh Lawson), as he prepares to stand with Earth's greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee) at the direction of Jax (Mehcad Brooks), a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. MMA fighter Cole Young (Lewis Tan), accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage-or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung (Chin Han) has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim), an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. ![]()
